RULES AND REGULATIONS

 1.      INTERPRETEATION

  • The College means ‘Indian College of Sexual Medicine’ (An Initiative of Society for Promotion of Health, Education & Research Everywhere SPHERE, Reg No..F-29335(N))
  • The Council or Governing Council means the Governing Council of the College constituted under these rules
  1. AREA OF OPERATION

 The area of operation of the College shall extend to whole of India. However, applicants from anywhere in the world who may wish to become members of the Indian College of Sexual Medicine may be allotted a Non-Resident Life Membership provided a Life Member proposes them.

  1. ACCOUNTING YEAR

 The accounting year of the College shall be from 1st April to 31st March.

  • Non-Resident Indians- Life members
ELIGIBILITY

(a)  Graduates/Post Graduates of Modern Medicine (Allopathy) only are eligible for Membership/Fellowship           

(b)   Emeritus Membership: Emeritus membership may be bestowed upon an individual who in the opinion of the College is one deserving of this special recognition by virtue of exceptional contribution on the subjects within the objects of the College. They shall pay no dues, hold no office under the College but shall be entitled to a free copy of the College’s official publications.

(c)   Life Members: Any person who is otherwise eligible to be admitted as a member and having sufficient professional competence in the field of Sexology and/ or who has shown interest in the activities of the College may apply for life membership. Only The members of ICSM will be eligible for the Fellowship Certificate course in Sexual Medicine

(d)   Non-Resident Life Members: Any person not residing in India irrespective of nationality and who is otherwise eligible to be admitted as a member and having sufficient professional competence in the field of Sexology and / or who has shown interest in the activities of the College may apply for non-resident life membership to the College by paying the life membership fee.

If their residence status changes to becoming resident in India, they may convert to life membership by paying a nominal sum of Rs. 10000/- for administrative expenses. However, no refund will be made.

However, as they are non-residents in India, they will have no voting rights and will be unable to contest for any posts to the executive & Governing Council

(e)   Honorary Fellowship: will be conferred on individuals (medical or otherwise) who have made exceptional contribution to Sexual Health.

  • Founder Members of the Indian College of Sexual Medicine – are those members who founded the College in its inception.

ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP

  1. Any person who is eligible to be a member of the College and who has applied for the membership of the College in the prescribed form with the prescribed fee may be admitted as a life member. Non-resident life member as the case may be by the Council at its meeting next following the receipt of the application. The Board may refuse to admit any person as aforesaid as a member of college at its discretion.
  2. All applications will be put up to the Governing Council. If for some reason a member is refused admission the membership fee will be returned and the application fee of Rs. 50/- will be retained for administrative expenses. The membership numbers will only be allotted after the cheques have been cleared and the Governing Council’s formal approval procured.
  3. Emeritus membership may be conferred by the Council at its discretion. Nomination for Emeritus membership must be made by at least five life members of the College to the Council.
  4. Fees payable for Life Membership of the ICSM shall be Rs.15000/-, and for Non-Resident Life Membership will be US $500.00. Members on payment of Life Membership fee shall not be required to pay any Annual Membership Fee. An additional amount of Rs.1000/- is to be added to all the outstation cheques for all the above categories for administrative purposes.
  5. An administrative conversion fee of Rs.5000/- will need to be paid by a non-resident life member when the member becomes resident and wishes to convert to a regular Life membership with voting rights.
  6. The Governing Council of the College may from time to time revise the fees payable for membership after prior notice.
  7. Disciplinary action/revocation of membership will be done if a Member/Fellow is convicted of criminal activity.
  8. Member/Fellows will be expelled if they indulge in activities detrimental to ICSM

ACTIVITIES OF THE COLLEGE

  1. To start the contact cum correspondence course on Sexual Medicine
  2. To conduct the examination for the students for Fellowship certification of the course
  3. To organize the monthly online CMEs for the students and members of the college
  4. To develop accreditation system for the members and students
  5. To award the certificates to the students

Legal Jurisdiction: Any legal dispute will be settled in the jurisdiction of Nagpur district court.

Eligibility criteria for applying to the Fellowship Course in Sexual Medicine (FICSM)

  • Only Members of Indian College of Sexual Medicine will be eligible for the contact cum correspondence course.
  • After passing post-CME examinations during the course period and clinical examination during contact session, Fellowship certificate will be awarded.
  • The fee for the Fellowship certificate course is Rs 25,000/-.
  • Examination: The members who have applied for the Fellowship course must pass at least the 10 post CME examination with 50% marks. They have to attend the contact course at the end of the one year and they will be awarded the Fellowship certificate in the convocation program at the end of Contact course.
  • The certificates will be awarded during the Convocation at the annual meeting.
  • The fee for contact course will be additional. All the travel and accommodation charges should be borne by applicants

Fellowship Criteria

Duration

  • Only Members are eligible to apply for Fellowship
  • The Fellowship course duration is one year.

Classes

  • Regular class/CME will be conducted once a month online.
  • There will be two offline/contact classes in a year where attendance is mandatory.

Attendance

  • As per ICSM policy it is mandatory to maintain a minimum attendance of 80%,
  • Attendance for the contact sessions is must

Examination & Evaluation

  • The candidates are expected to appear for Internal Continuous Evaluation as well contact classes.
  • To be eligible for Fellowship the candidates must fulfill the minimum attendance criteria and obtain passing marks in the ICSM (50marks).
  • The subject faculties will design the Internal Continuous Evaluation (ICE).
  • Candidates who could not clear the examination shall be given an opportunity to reappear for the examination in the following year by submitting the prescribed fee (Course Extension Fee)

  • Life membership fee ₹15,000/-
  • Fellowship Course fee ₹25,000/-
  • Course Extension fee ₹10,000/-
  • Administrative fee for the contact session will be additional.
